GIS Analyst

Job Description

Farner Barley & Associations, Inc. (FBA) is accepting applications from GIS Analysts who enjoy problem-solving, have a passion for analyzing data, and enjoy working as part of a team.  This full-time position is part of our Graduate Development Program and a great an opportunity to expand skillsets and work on a variety of projects including but not limited to comprehensive plan amendments, land use analyses, site selection analyses, watershed delineations, 3D analyses, and more.  Candidates should have a solid background in GIS fundamentals as is typically found in graduates from an accredited program with an emphasis in GIS.


  Education and Experience:



  • 2+ semesters GiS coursework using ArcMap 10.X

  • Bachelor's Degree in Geography, Geomatics, Environmental Science, Planning, or related field

  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro, AutoCad, MS Excel preferred

  • Web mapping skills and Python programming skills a plus


Desired Skills:



  • ArcMap proficiency

  • Ability to manipulate GIS data and prepare maps and figures

  • Knowledge of CAD integration with ArcMap

  • Ability to meet aggressive deadlines

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
